Solid pine wood with a saturated black shou sugi ban finish and sealer. The grain and texture on these pieces is absolutely stunning!

Shou sugi ban is the traditional Japanese method of wood preservation. The charred surface makes the wood fire retardant as well as resistant to rot, insects and decay. Natural splits in the wood which reveals the natural wood tones are a feature of this piece.
