From Copenhagen to Oakland: A Story of Design

We first discovered this Danish design house in 2023 and instantly felt drawn to their thoughtful approach and true Scandinavian sensibility. Alessandro and I reached out, connected virtually at first, and immediately knew we’d found kindred spirits—people who value the same things we do. Later, Alessandro visited in person, met their incredible team, saw every design up close, sat in all the chairs and sofas, and toured their production. Everything was so beautifully made and produced under such good conditions—it just felt right. We were deeply impressed not only by the timeless beauty and quiet sophistication of their pieces, but also by their integrity, authenticity, and genuine care for how they do business. After more than a decade of building SOBU, we don’t take on new brands lightly.
